I have a confession to make. I wasn’t sure that our kids would have fun on this Disney Cruise. I know, when I write it down it does sound a bit nuts but let me explain. So, my kids were 12 and 14 at the time of the cruise back in April  (they are now soon to be 13 in a matter of days and 15) and they have been to Disney World in Florida many times and have been to Disneyland in California once. They love the rides, the experiences, and even the character meet and greets. Since this was our first Disney Cruise I was not sure if there would be enough for them to do. Wow, was I wrong! Everyone was entertained on the cruise.

Just to remind you that we were on the Marvel Day at Sea Disney Cruise back in mid-April. It was a five-day cruise with stops in Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas. Be sure to check out part one and part two of our Disney Cruise adventure!

So here is the thing, Disney knows how to keep everyone entertained on board! Here is my list of must-do entertainment while on the Disney Cruise.

  • Character Meet and Greets: Just like at the parks there are meet and greets with all of the main characters, including Mickey, Minnie, Chip & Dale, Goofy and the rest of the Disney gang. The added bonus for us was we got to meet and greet with some of Marvel’s top heroes, including Spiderman, Black Panther,  and Ironman.

  • Movies: There are movies playing in the theatre all day long! This is a great place to see first-run movies and sit in a cool place out of the Caribbean sun! Since our cruise was Marvel themed we got a chance to see all of our favourite Marvel superhero movies!

  • Broadway Style Shows: These are an absolute must-see for the entire family! There is so much talent aboard the ship in these shows. You get broadway style and quality on the ship! Oh, the singing and dancing! We took the time every night we were aboard to see a show!

  • On-deck Parties: The crew really knows how to pack in the fun. There was a party on deck every night! We had a Superhero themed party, of course, but there was also the Pirate party too! What a blast. There was singing, dancing and fireworks! What a blast.

Those are my top recommendations, based on what my family enjoyed! Of course, the kids also get tonnes of fun in the kids clubs on the ship! There are kids clubs for kids of all ages, from preschool all the way up to teens! It was fantastic for the kids to have their own space on the ship. Other than a few open house hours, those kids clubs were kids only. Yup, no parents allowed! Don’t worry though, there is an adult only space on the ship! There is an adult only restaurant, Palo, and an adult only pool!

There was never a time while on the ship that my kids said they were bored! Music to the ears of every parent, for sure! Or at least this parent!
