Four Wrapped Gifts

“Love is a fruit in season at all times, and within reach of every hand”
Mother  Teresa

I think as parents we over think things. We stress about things that in the end don’t really matter. What really matters often slips through our fingers while we are worrying about life.
It isn’t about the clothes. It isn’t about the toys. It isn’t about the new shoes. It isn’t about any of the material things that we often think we need to give our children.

Four gifts…. to give your children and yourself:

1. Time – give it liberally.
Many parents are busy, me included. So many of us have long to do lists and are short on time. We rush to get to work, to make dinner, to get the kids to dance or hockey or soccer. We just need to slow down and give our children our time. You can never get back time. Before you know it your babies are all grown up. GIVE YOUR TIME LIBERALLY. The time we have with out children is priceless.

2. Acceptance
Love your children for who they are. They are special. Accept them for who they are and what they do. They will find their way in the world when they know you love them just as they are!

3. Education
Teach your children to be the best they can. Teach them LOVE. Teach them RESPECT. Teach them EMPATHY. Teach

4. Love – the other three pale in comparison
Give them the best gift of all. LOVE them. Children deserve our gift of love. Surround them with LOVE and they will have the courage and strength to charge into life. Your gift of love will give them the support they need to live life to the fullest!
