I don’t match socks. Yup, you heard me right. I DO NOT MATCH SOCKS (adulting can be hard sometimes, we can all agree on that right? OK, it is only socks and not really adulting but still, I really dislike matching socks!).
Who has time for that? You with me?
I have done my best to raise my children to appreciate the creativeness of mismatched socks.
OK, occasionally, I do match socks but that really only happens once or twice a year. I just really hate matching socks. It is time-consuming and boring. And when you think about how many socks that pesky washing machine, or maybe it is the dryer, actually eats it just becomes a constant search and rescue missing. Wearing matching socks
Let’s face it, wearing matching socks is seriously overrated!
So, I started early with my kids teaching them how great it is to wear mismatched socks. I think they were toddlers when it started. Now that they are 11 and 13 years old it is actually cool to wear socks that don’t match. They get to rebel against the matching socks society and show their creative, quirky side.
You know what else wearing mismatched socks does? It speeds up your morning routine. No one has to spend hours looking for a matching pair. Remember, I told you early in this post I don’t spend time matching socks so it is no surprise that matching socks are rare in our house!
