So I am a little late in posting pictures from my daughters 7th birthday party. We had a kids party – pictures to come – and a family party. We always have two parties, something my kids have come to believe is normal. The family party was fantastic this year. The weather was great, perfect BBQ weather and the pool was clear and warm. It was a full house, we had about 18 people in all told.

So it was another busy week but what’s new. I am back to my five favourites from the week and this week it has to money. This week I finally opened a bank account for my girls. I have been wanting to do this for a long time. You see every year my in-laws give my children money for their birthday and it inevitably gets spent because the kids don’t have a bank account to stash it away in so this week I finally did it!

There is that very famous saying “It takes a village to raise a child”. I truly believe that. I was lucky to grow up in a very close community. We knew all our neighbours and my friends lived on my street. I always felt safe in my community and I knew that everyone’s Mother was keeping an eye on me ( of course, that is both good and bad if you know what I mean?
